About Donations
No. UmmahCauses charges 0% platform fees. 100% of your donation goes to charity. We sustain ourselves through optional donor tips, which are always transparent and never required.
Stripe payment processing fees (2.9% + $0.30) still apply, but you can choose to cover those too so the full amount reaches the charity.
When you donate to a cause (like Palestine, Education, or Relief), your donation is split equally among all verified charities working on that cause. This levels the playing field so smaller charities receive the same support as larger ones.
On other platforms, the top 2-3 charities get the bulk of donations. Our model ensures equitable distribution.
Donations to US-based 501(c)(3) charities on our platform are tax-deductible. Each charity page shows its registration status.
International charities display their country and registration information. Check with your local tax authority for deductibility in your country.
Yes. You can check the "This is Zakat" box on any cause page, and your donation will only be distributed to zakat-eligible charities. You can also donate directly to the Zakat cause category.
You can set up monthly, weekly, or daily recurring donations. These are processed securely through Stripe Subscriptions.
You need an account to manage recurring donations, and you can cancel anytime from your dashboard.

Each charity displays a transparent trust score (0-100) based on publicly verifiable indicators:
- Government registration (+30 points)
- Years of operation (up to +25 points)
- Public annual report (+15 points)
- Independent external audit (+15 points)
- Charity Navigator rating (+10 points, US only)
- Islamic scholarly endorsements (+5 points)
UmmahCauses aggregates these signals to help you make informed decisions. The scoring is internationally fair — any charity with good transparency practices can achieve a high score, regardless of country.
We accept all major credit and debit cards through Stripe's secure payment processing, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Your payment information is handled entirely by Stripe — we never store your card details.
Yes. Our public Transparency Ledger shows all donations in real-time, including payout status to charities. You can see every donation flowing through the platform.
For Charities
Visit our Apply page to submit a charity application. We accept charities from the US, UK, Canada, Japan, and other countries.
There are no listing fees. Charities join for free and receive 100% of donations directed to them.
We support multiple payout methods:
- Stripe Connect — Instant payouts directly to the charity's Stripe account
- Wise Transfer — Low-cost international transfers
- PayPal — Email-based payouts
- Bank Transfer — Direct wire transfer
